| German Railway Authorities heavy weight surcharge | 22/07/2010 |
Dear Customer,
Please note that the Germany Railway Authorities have decided to implement a heavy weight surcharge for all 20ft containers exceeding a gross weight ( Cargo + container tare ) of 28.000 kg:
The surcharge amounts to: Euro 100,- / 20ft
This surcharge will be implemented as from 01.08.2010 till further notice.
MSC will NOT absorb this surcharge and it is as such to be recovered without fail form the cargo interests / freight payers.
The surcharge will become effective for all shipments with physical transport date, basis rail or rail-road, in Germany as from 01.08.2010 and this both for pre-carriage and on-carriage
ALL clients whose shipments are subject to the heavy weight surcharge must be advised accordingly. If the client refuses to pay this surcharge, carrier haulage request will be rejected.
