Congestion Recovery Surcharge

Dear Customer,

In order to recover some of the costs incurred by MSC as a result of the ongoing industrial action in South African Ports,
MSC will be implementing a Congestion Recovery Surcharge of

• USD 100/TEU

for dry and reefer cargo loaded and discharged in South African Ports. Transhipment cargo will not be affected.

For cargo from South Africa to the NWC, the surcharge will be introduced on all cargo that has been stacked by 00h01 on 21st May, 2010.

A notice to follow with the date of implantation for cargo from the NWC to South Africa.

We will advise further on the expected duration of the surcharge.
